Ken Miles Biography

Ken Miles was born in Sutton Coldfield, Warwickshire, England in November 1918 and passed away in August 1966.

Before racing, Miles was a Staff Sergeant in the British Army. He won the USAC Road Racing Championship in 1961 in a Porsche.

He also won the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1966 with Lloyd Ruby. Miles won three 12 Hours of Sebring races in 1963, 1965, and 1966, driving different cars each time.

Despite being British, he was known for racing with American teams. He was posthumously inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame in America in 2001.

His son Peter manages a vintage car collection worth over $80 million. Miles died in a racing accident on August 17, 1966, at age 47.
